Justin Baldoni is claiming Ryan Reynolds Nicepool character in his 2024 film, “Deadpool & Wolverine,” bullied and mocked him. And has sent a litigation letter to Disney and Marvel to retain documents that mentioned him so he can prove that. Unfortunately, fans believe that the move is worsening his case.
According to a comment about the issue on X, his lawyer, Bryan Freedman is a complete clown that is making Baldoni look even worse. But is this really true or are they moving in the right direction? Heres how they involved Disney and Marvel in the Blake lively suit Saga.
People confirmed that Justin Baldoni through his lawyer sent a litigation letter on Jan. 7 to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Disney CEO Bob Iger. The purpose was to ensure that all the documentsuses to develop Nicepool character” and “communications relating to it including, writing and filming of storylines and scenes be available for use in court.

Interestingly, it seems like there’s an element of truth in that considering that the scene in question has been deleted.
In the deleted scene, Reynolds’ Nicepool character wore a hairstyle which was Justin Baldoni’s signature hairstyle for years while he talked his wife, Blake Lively’s minor character of Ladypool. In the movie,” Nicepool says to Ladypool: “She is gorgeous. She just had a baby too, and you can’t even tell.” Perhaps, it is innocent but its part of Blake Lively’s claims that Baldoni fat-shamed her with similar comment.
Now if her husband can say it to her in a movie, it means Justin Baldoni did not fat shame her. In fact, the It ends with us star only asked their mutual trainer about her weight because of back issues meaning he only needed to know if he can carry her. Another instance of mockery is the end credits of “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
Ryan Reynolds who starred as Nicepool is listed as “Gordon Reynolds” and not Ryan Reynolds. Likewise Blake Lively thanked Gordon Reynolds in the end credits of “It Ends With Us,” meaning that the two movies have a strange connection. The third clue is the July 22 Instagram post which that tagged @deadpoolmovie and @itendswithusmovie, With Lively writing “about Nice men who use feminism as a tool.”
In the same scene where Nicepool talked about his wife’s weight, he noted that he is a “a feminist” and will “one day start a podcast that monetizes the women’s movement.” The connection is that Baldoni, who identifies as a feminist, also has a podcast called “Man Enough Podcast,” which details about gender roles and what it means to be a man in today’s society.
Usually, such letters sent to Marvel and Disney is an indication that a lawsuit is coming considering that he has not sued Lively or Reynolds. He only sued New York Times for their publications but it may soon be the time of Hollywood’s power couple.
