Following the Superbowl loss, Kansas City Chiefs General Manager is reflecting on the loss. Recall that Travis Kelce shared update about his future in an episode of New Heights with his brother Jason Kelce. During the episode, he noted that the loss was because of the wrong timing and that he is not sure he is coming back to the NFL.
In his words, “I know everybody wants to know whether or not l’m playing next year, and right now, I’m just kicking everything down the road. I’m not making any crazy decisions.” Now, Brett Veach, the General Manager of Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs has revealed what really caused the Superbowl loss in new NFL podcast, The Insiders.
According to the Kansas City Chiefs general manager, his team lost because Travis Kelce was fighting a “big illness” before his Super Bowl defeat. As if he knew that people will think he is making excuses, he added that he wasn’t “making excuses” for the Superbowl loss considering that his illness didn’t make much difference to the score.
He also lauded the Eagles who won 40-22 to have played so well endeing with, “We didn’t have the end to our season that we hoped for.” For him the loss was avoidable, his team had a bad day at the wrong time. We “picked a bad day to have a bad day.” “You learn more from your losses than your wins.”
