Taylor Swift shares an interesting relationship with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. Not only have they been friends for years but the pop star is godmother to her three daughters and has used their names in some of her songs. With the Justin Baldoni feud, rumours are saying she has distanced herself from them.
Recall that Taylor Swift was named in the suits between the two co-stars as being an enabler for Blake Lively. Even the Game of Thrones reference described her as one of the actress’s dragons helping her get whatever she wants. Now, that seems to be no longer the case as highlighted by TV showperson, Candace Owens.
Candace Owens was selling a narrative that Taylor Swift has abandoned Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. However, it is said that Candace Owens is mad at Taylor for some reason and that should set off alarm bells that her view is biased. While Candace is famous, she is not a reputable source. Her inclusion was meant to highlight the fact that this situation is getting fishier by the day, not that her opinion has merit.
Even her statement that Taylor Swift’s team has responded to her accusations is false. Her statement that “Taylor’s team responded to our video,” was false. What she meant is “I saw an article in the Daily Mail and decided Taylor’s team was sending a secret message to me.” While Candace is wrong, what does Taylor think of her friend?
Media outlet Page Six, an insider revealed that Taylor Swift did not abandon Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds. The trio has maintained their relationship and the singer is empathetic towards her friend’s woes. Unfortunately, the outlet’s response was not enough to close up the rumours.
Reacting to the news that the Eras Tour performer has abandoned her friends, one critic wrote, “I’m not a Blake Lively fan at all, and I don’t blame Taylor for pulling away after that cringey Khaleesi text. But…it looks bad regardless. First, there’s the question of the kind of people she hangs out with (Blake and Ryan being delusional bullies, which sounds familiar).”
Adding, “Then you get to the fact that her friendships are purely transactional and she’ll kick you to the curb if you don’t make her look good anymore. She’s still a fair-weather friend and a coward. The Swifties will be falling over themselves to paint her as the victim though.” Another added, “If this is true, it is even more wild that she’s this fairweather when she’s the godmother to 3 (possibly all 4) of their kids.”
A third added, “With all the swifties falling over themselves to paint Taylor as being oblivious to her friends’ behaviours, it will be hard to justify her involvement with Blake given that they were so close that she is their godmother. Keep in mind that Blake has two sisters who could have been chosen to be the godmother(s) to any of Blake’s and Ryan’s kids, but instead, Blake still chose Taylor over both of her sisters not once, not twice, but THREE times over.”
