Meghan Markles Seeks Book Deal For Post Prince Harry Divorce
Prince Harry may have debunked divorce rumours from his wife, Meghan Markle but the dust is not settling anytime soon. Recall that during the New York Times’ 2024 DealBook Summit in December, the spare author noted that he feels sorry for the divorce rumours peddlers because it’s tiring to keep up with.
Following the December event, the couple has been happily living their life even helping out in the Los Angeles wildfires by opening their home to victims and whatnot. Untill news filtered in that Meghan Markle’s team is seeking a book deal about a future book about her life “post-divorce” from Prince Harry.
TBN finds it worthy to note that the couple have not yet seperated but that she is exploring her option if it will happen. Although, their marriage have not shown signs of breakup, a Vanity Fair exposé published on Friday revealed that the Duchess of Sussex’s team had a conversation with an unnamed publishing house to “gauge interest” in the idea for the book.
Vanity Fair got wind of the information from a person with knowledge of the situation who did not reveal timeline of this alleged discussion was not disclosed. Rather, Vanity Fair’s sources noted that the book will come after the duchess has broken up with Prince Harry and not her first husband Trevor Engelson, whom she divorced in 2014.
Vanity Fair’s source reiterated that the pitch for the book deal did not have divorce as its major theme. Because it is meant to to see if the publisher would “theoretically be interested” should the divorce happen. Another source clarified to Vanity Fair that the meeting did take place.
However, it was for something else but “If that’s true to any degree, [Markle] would have been approached and not vice versa.” Per the media outlet, the publisher never made an offer and no manuscript was produced because there was no divorce yet to write about.
