Perhaps if another person wore Kim Kardashian’s tissue dress at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, it would have been iconic. But unfortunately, the Skims founder did and the internet is not here for it. Instead, the mother of four is in another bout of backlash.
Kim Kardashian is being mocked by fans for wearing her weird white gown and tan to the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday. One comment reads, “Toilet paper and a terrible tan.” Others read, “Dress looks like a paper jam,”, “Like the fitted sheet no one can fold,” and a third wrote, “Two-ply?’ another asked, comparing the dress to toilet paper or perhaps paper towels.”

Other comments read, “What is rumpled bed sheets is she wearing?”, “Is it a trash bag or a shower curtain?”, “Who’s she marrying?’, “Looks like a wad of Kleenex.” Others scorned Kim’s tan, with one troll writing on Instagram, “Jeeez how much spray tan can a single person use?!?!’. Another added, “Why is she orange? and a third added, “She looks like she jumped in a vat of self-tanner.”
But what exactly did the star wear to the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party held at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills that warranted such comments. The Skims founder arrived in a bridal-inspired Balenciaga dress with a classic princess silhouette. It further features a fitted bodice that flared dramatically into a full, voluminous skirt.

Unfortunately, the dress looked like it needed a great deal of ironing. And her tan seemed to be too much although the dress highlighted it. She added no accessories but put her hair into her signature hairstyle made up of a tight, slicked-back updo. She completed the outfit with a pair of high heels.
Kim’s 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party dress is not the first time she is getting trolled over her outfit choices. Recall that the reality TV star endured massive backlash for wearing late Princess Diana’s cross pendant necklace in a racy dress. The cross was seen resting in between her breasts causing critics to rant endlessly on social media.
